Our curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework and inspired by the renowned Reggio Emilia philosophy. Learning through play is at the core of everything we do – whether it’s role-playing in our home corner, building towers with blocks, or painting their latest masterpiece, we make sure it’s fun and meaningful. Our educators plan activities that spark curiosity and extend children’s thinking, from science experiments (like figuring out what sinks or floats) to early literacy games and music & movement sessions.

We also place a strong emphasis on community and belonging. Bush Kids Vasse is a close-knit, family-focused centre where everyone knows each other. We foster caring relationships and teach children to be kind friends and active helpers. You’ll see this in our daily routines – older children might buddy up with younger ones for storytime, or the class might work together on a community project (like a recycling drive or creating cards for a local aged-care home). We love to involve the Vasse community in our learning too: occasional library visits, nature walks in local parks, or inviting community helpers (like firefighters or wildlife educators) to the centre give children real-world experiences and a sense of connection to their world.

Our centre is led by Mrs. Kathy McKrill, who brings over 30 years of experience in early childhood education, family support, and mentorship. After a study tour to Reggio Emilia, Kathy embraced a child-led, inquiry-based approach that now guides everything we do at Bush Kids Vasse. Under her leadership, our passionate team continues to grow and evolve – ensuring your child is supported by caring, experienced hands every step of the way.

Enrolling your child at our centre means becoming part of the Bush Kids family – we’re here to make the process smooth and enjoyable. Our Vasse childcare centre caters to children from 6 weeks to 5 years old, encompassing ages from tiny babies through to energetic pre-schoolers. We operate Monday to Friday with extended day hours (approx. early morning to early evening) to accommodate working parents and busy schedules. Bush Kids Vasse is open year-round (except public holidays), so you can rely on us for consistent, high-quality care whenever you need it.

Ready to get started? Here’s how our enrolment process works:

1. Contact Us / Book a Tour:
   The first step is to see our centre for yourself. We encourage you to book a tour to meet our friendly team and explore the facilities. Come along with your child – you’ll both get a feel for the warm, fun atmosphere at Bush Kids Vasse. Our Centre Manager, Kathy, or one of our lead educators will be happy to show you around, answer any questions, and discuss your child’s needs and routine. (If you’re unable to visit in person straight away, simply give us a call or send an enquiry online to express your interest and ask any questions.)
2. Enroll or Join the Waitlist:
   If you love what you see (and we’re confident you will!), we’ll guide you through the enrolment paperwork. We’ll provide an enrolment form and all the information you need about our policies, fees, and the Child Care Subsidy (CCS). Bush Kids Vasse is an approved childcare provider, so eligible families can avail themselves of CCS to reduce out-of-pocket fees. Our admin team is happy to help you navigate the subsidy and any documentation. In some cases, our centre may have a waitlist (especially for certain age groups or days of the week). If so, we’ll explain the waitlist procedure and keep you updated about availability – rest assured, we do our very best to accommodate your family as soon as possible.
3. Orientation and First Day:
   Once your enrolment is confirmed, we’ll arrange a personalised orientation for your child. You’ll come in for a short visit or two where your child can play in the room, meet their educators, and start to feel comfortable in the new surroundings while you’re with them. This gentle introduction helps make the first drop-off much easier. We’ll also gather important info about your child’s routine, nap times, dietary requirements, comfort items, etc., so we can maintain consistency with home. On your child’s first official day, our team will give them a warm Bush Kids welcome! Throughout those early days, we’ll stay in close contact with you – sharing updates on how they’re settling in and making sure both you and your child feel secure and happy.
